How do I install a theme directly from my PS3 browser?
Themezer’s PS3 install URLs are specifically designed to work with the console’s browser. You can download a theme directly on your PS3 without a USB drive or a modded console:
- Browse Themezer on your phone or computer and open the theme you want.
- Find the short install URL below the Download button, such as
http://ps3.themezer.net/TA1. - Open Network → Internet Browser on your PS3 and enter that theme’s full URL. Use
http://if HTTPS does not load. - Follow the download prompts. Sony documents that themes downloaded using the browser install automatically when the download finishes.
- Open Settings → Theme Settings → Theme, select the downloaded theme, and choose Apply.
The short URL downloads the .p3t file directly; you do not need to load the main Themezer website on your PS3. Each theme has its own URL, and the example
above is only an illustration.
Modified firmware can change the download or save prompts. If the file does not install automatically, follow your firmware’s installation instructions or use the USB installation method.
FTP is another option on some modified consoles. Its server setup and destination depend on your firmware; follow maintained, console-specific guidance. Themezer does not provide an FTP endpoint.
